The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is seeking to hire a high energy individual who will serve as our Special Assistant to the Director, on Child Support Services program issues. 

The desired candidate will have a relatable degree or experience equivalent to four years of college, with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience around the complexity and application of Illinois Child Support laws and policies  
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Bi-lingual / Demonstrate strong human relations and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate successful experience working individually and as a team member
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Excel, Outlook with ability to learn other database software  
  • Experience managing and monitoring large projects with reporting requirements
  • Experience completing confidential reports and research assignments under strict deadlines
  • Experience developing and implementing policy recommendations  
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to pass a back ground check
